Fear of the beginning: 3 tips on how to overcome it and start creating.

Creative people face many types of fears: fear of criticism, fear of failure, impostor syndrome, fear of voicing the price of their work, fear of a "clean slate".

The "fear of a blank slate" is a stupor before starting work that occurs in writers and artists. In sculptural painting, it can be called "the fear of a pure base."

3 tips from the School of Sculptural Painting to overcome the fear of "pure basics":

1️⃣Practice more often.
Stupor before starting work can occur even for an experienced master, if he has not been engaged in creativity for a long time. Try not to take long breaks! If there is no time to make large paintings, then you can set yourself a task: 1 week — 1 flower. You can create such a flower simply on a palette or a miniature base, which does not take much time. This weekly workout will allow you to always stay on the creative wave!

2️⃣Go through the "clean foundation" stage as quickly as possible: apply a sketch or background of texture paste. In this way, the brain receives a command that the process is running.

3️⃣Keep a selection of ideas for new works.
A selection of ideas from photos, videos or pictures will help you imagine the ultimate goal of your creative work before you even start. In addition, the brain actively begins to generate its own ideas, and inspiration comes. In place of the fear of a "clean slate" comes a strong desire to "get started as soon as possible"!

Another piece of advice was given by the students of the school of sculptural painting: "allow yourself to make mistakes!"
As soon as you allow yourself to be an imperfect artist, let go of perfectionism in your work, freedom and ease of creativity come.
